Andrea Nenzel, CSJP

Sister Andrea is Congregation Leader for the Sisters of St. Joseph of Peace and currently serves as the Member trustee of Peace Ministries.

Sister Andrea, born and raised in western Canada, entered the Sisters of St. Joseph of Peace in 1960. She has a B.A. from Seattle University; M.A. and Ph.D. studies in Mathematics from the University of Oregon; as well as a lifetime teaching certificate and principal credentials in Washington and Alaska. She served in education, social service ministries and during the war in El Salvador as co-director of Calle Real Refugee Camp for the Archdiocese of San Salvador. She also served in community leadership in a variety of roles.

While in Ketchikan, Alaska, Sister Andrea served on the Ketchikan Hospital Board, co-founded Southeast Alaska Regional Health Corporation and was on the Governor’s Health Advisory Board. She serves as vice-chair of the board of PeaceHealth, a ministry founded by the Sisters of St. Joseph of Peace, where she has served since 1987.
