Maureen Lavin
Maureen Lavin received a B.A. from the College of Saint Elizabeth, a J.D. from Fordham University School of Law, and a Masters in Bioethics from the University of Pennsylvania. In her legal career, she held positions of partner, senior partner, managing partner and executive committee member in her law firm. She was a trial lawyer representing physicians and hospitals in the New York courts.
Maureen has been an adjunct faculty member at the College of Saint Elizabeth teaching graduate courses in healthcare ethics. She has served on the Bioethics Committees of Hackensack University Medical Center and St. Joseph’s Regional Medical Center. She has also held the position of system ethicist at St. Joseph’s Regional Medical Center in Paterson. She has been a member of the Archdiocesan Review Board.
Maureen is involved in volunteer ministries, including the Social Justice Ministry of St. Anastasia Church and the Food Pantry at St. Andrew’s Church. She has also been a Court Appointed Special Advocate (CASA) in Bergen County.
She serves on the Finance Committee and chairs the Mission and Ministry Committee of Peace Ministries.
